Customer data is not disclosed to third parties, except when required by law, in matters related to debt collection, when delivering an order to a transport company, and to the payment intermediary service provider used by the customer in the purchase if the situation requires it. In addition, for certain products, the customer's contact information is disclosed to the importer if the importer's guarantee requires it.

Use of cookies

We use cookies and other similar technologies on the website to enable the technical functionality of our online store and the best possible customer experience. Cookies are small text files that allow the server to identify the customer online.

Cookies are needed, for example, for logging into the online store, for the operation of the shopping cart, and for other necessary functions.
Our analytics partners use cookies and other similar technologies to identify the customer. These technologies help us collect anonymous analytics about the use of our services, which allows us to better understand our customers and to develop our services to be better and easier to use.

The use of cookies can normally be managed in the settings of your own web browser.

Principles of register protection

The register is stored electronically in our company's cloud-based online store and is protected from outsiders by appropriate technical protection measures. Only designated persons who need to access customer data for their work have the right to use and maintain the information in the register. All of these persons are bound by a duty of confidentiality and the staff has been instructed in the secure handling of customer data.

All e-mails sent to our company addresses are stored on servers within the European Union.

All paper documents containing customer data are kept in a locked state and are destroyed by shredding as soon as they are no longer needed, normally after two years at the latest.

We are committed to using only partners for electronic data processing who are committed to complying with the EU Data Protection Regulation and other regulations in force in Finland regarding data processing.

Data retention period

We only retain personal data for as long as it is needed to manage the customer relationship. Normally, we consider the customer relationship to have ended three years after the last order, after which the data is anonymized, i.e. all personal information is removed. After this, for example, order history cannot be linked to customer data. In some respects, data can be retained for longer if required by law, for example for accounting or product liability purposes, or if there are valid credit relationships for purchases, for example.

Right to inspection, correction and prohibition

The customer has the right to check what information about him or her has been stored in the register. The inspection request must be sent in writing and signed to the controller. In connection with the inspection request, the customer may be required to reliably verify his or her identity. The request for inspection of the data will be responded to in writing within a reasonable time.

If there are errors in the register, the customer can submit a request for the error to be corrected. Normally, the customer can update their contact information themselves, for example by logging into our online store and updating their account information.

The customer has the right to prohibit the use of their information for marketing by notifying the data controller. Despite this prohibition, the information may be used to contact you if an error is detected in the product purchased by the customer or if contacting you is necessary for processing the order.

Written inspection requests must be sent by email to info@autoikkuna.com from the email address you have used to do business with us. We will respond to messages as soon as possible.
